Born in 1967 in Fairport, NY. He lives and works in Brooklyn.
I explore art and literature separately, and for some projects I unite them in multi-media installations and performances. I call my unified art practice Three-Dimensional Literature. When I build a three-dimensional literature project, I write the text and build the installation simultaneously. Neither illustrates the other; the evolution of one informs the other.
David earned his BA from SUNY Plattsburgh (1989) in sculpture and creative writing, his MFA from CalArts (1991) in art, and his MA from NYU (2006) in art and literary theory.
